Review: Face of Australia Concealer in Neutral

A little while ago my Smashbox High Definition Concealer ran out. Sad, I loved that stuff. It was creamy, it didn't contain any illuminating particles so it was perfect to hide pimples, plus it had staying power to rival all other concealers I had ever tried (including Benefit Erase Paste).

In a bid to try and find something just as good for a wee bit cheaper - as I am spending a lot of time travelling between two houses and my makeup bag is constantly getting baked in the car - I picked up this FOA one during a Priceline sale. I have to say, I am really quite impressed.

Good Points:

1. It has staying power to rival Smashbox.

2. Easy to use, wind-up-stick packaging. The stick makes it easy to weild, as its a pretty familiar mode of use (those wind up crayons is pre-school anyone?). Just don't dot it directly onto pimples, as you don't want to transfer bacteria to the area. I tend to use a brush, or dab some on clean fingers and press onto the spot.

3. Waxy formula, which is still quite easy to spread as it is not crazy thick. It still gives good coverage though, therefore this baby is great for covering pimples. Creamy formulas tend to do well as under eye concealers (I currently love the Revlon Age Defying Concealer).

4. The colour "Neutral" blends right into my skin. I just need to press around the area a tiny bit to make sure that it is not noticeable and away we go.

5. Price point: I picked this one up on sale, but I think it normally retails for about $11.95.

Bad points:

Not really sure I have any. It ticks all of my concealer boxes!

  1. Sounds good! I love little stick concealers, I wanted to try the Revlon Photoready one but none of them matched me. :(

  2. I dont think I've ever had stick concealers! Do you consider yourself pretty dark under the eyes?

  3. I love stick concealers too, they seem to be easier to use.

Suzanne, I don't consider myself very dark under the eyes, but I don't use this concealer under my eyes as its quite waxy. I use a creamy concealer instead, and use this one on blemishes. xx
